Power of mentoring and fostering relationships

Over the last few weeks I have watched the Year 10 girls nurture the MiniMeRoboGirls. The girls have gained in confidence and they are developing into a group of well rounded students.

We attended the Cisco Little Big Awards Regional final on the 24th February at Brockhole Conference Centre, Preston. The girls won ‘Final Pitch and Presentation’ category. They were up against 9 other schools from Lancashire, Cheshire and the Greater Manchester area.

Although they were the youngest team, they demonstrated a level of maturity beyond their years. They presented with confidence and answered the judges questions/queries without hesitation. They worked together and conducted themselves well throughout the day.

There is a possibility that they may still go to the final – even if they don’t – they did a great job and should be very proud of their achievements.

The girls were presented with their certificates in the year 7 assembly.  Well done to all the girls involved.
